Increase Engagement with Characters on your Business Cards

Stand-out from the crowd with a business card featuring a mascot or cartoon character.

Business cards don’t have to be boring. You can get attention and stand out from the crowd… without doing something drastic!

With a character on it, the card will be easily noticed and recognized as your business, making it stand out from the rest!

Just add one of the 300+ characters in the downloadable Mascot Characters template set (Premium Content) to your business card (or create a logo using a character and put that on your business card).

Watch the video to see some of the characters included in this graphics set:

Here’s a couple of other business card tips to help increase engagement:

When giving out your card, hand-write something on one copy, such as your cell-phone number, a secondary e-mail address, or cute message. Or even offer them a special discount.

These tactics will give your card a noticeable edge (and make others take a second look before tossing it)!

Give your audience a reason to come to your website or social media. And tell them exactly what you want them to do. Use a Call-to-Action such as “Use this discount code in the shopping cart at https://stagingapril.laughingbirdsoftware.com”.

And, be sure to give a couple of “clean” cards to each contact as well, asking your new friend to pass one on to another potential customer.

Focus On Video Storytelling to Gain More Customers

Why Do I Need to Tell a Story With Video?

Did you know the human attention span has dwindled to 8 seconds (from 12 seconds back in the year 2000)?

… which is less than the attention span of a puppy! ?

Therefore, you need to do whatever you can to grab the attention of your viewer within the first 8 seconds (or less) of your video.

People love stories (how many times have you sat around with a group of friends telling stories when you could’ve been doing any number of other things… right?)

Storytelling has turned into a new and powerful ‘sales pitch’ that’s getting real results. And video is helping us tell better stories.

When you’re indulging in video marketing, the rules remain the same. You need to give immense value and make sure your video content is filling a need. Storytelling helps you do that. It lets you connect with your target audience.

Use an Explainer Video to Tell Your Story

Here’s a fantastic article showing how to create your own ‘explainer video’ using elements of a story. This article actually helped inspire this Creatorpreneurs Quick-Win.

Now that you’ve read the article, create a video focusing on telling a story that showcases your business in a positive light and lets your brand’s personality shine. Take a look at the video to see how easy it is to do with Powtoons (one of the video creation products we use ourselves).

Create and Share Premium Marketing Content

In order to build trust with your audience, you have to demonstrate authority and credibility by providing value.

What better way to provide value than giving your prospective customers a glimpse of the value they’ll get by purchasing your product or service?

How to Share Free Content

Free content positions you as an expert and authority on the topic – As people see you creating free YouTube videos packed with helpful information, or e-books overflowing with awesome advice, or podcasts filled with valuable interviews, they start to see you as the expert on the subject. The more value you give, the higher your authority status.

The more content you create on a consistent basis, the bigger your fan-base will grow. And the more consumers will share your work with others in their network, affirming your status as an authority. This is an effective form of word-of-mouth marketing.

Think of free content as a test drive — no one is going to buy a car without driving it first.

Plus, free content is consumed 50 times more often than content that sits behind a paywall. It also creates more exposure and earns new customers.

Types of Premium Marketing Content You Should Give Away

Deciding which content you should distribute for free needs to be a strategic decision.

You need to be thinking three steps ahead. You’re looking to create leverage that allows you to eventually do something for profit, so figure out what kind of content will get you what you want, and who needs to see it.

Some examples of free content:

  • Skype consultations,
  • downloadable ebooks and other info-products,
  • videos,
  • training material,
  • YouTube videos
  • podcasts.

Easy Content Strategy

Here’s what you need to do: Take a look at your product/service offers. Think of 3 types of free content you can create that’ll really help your prospects solve a problem and establish you as an authority.

Now, create the content that’ll be most helpful for your customer (but that is fairly easy to create, if possible). Don’t forget to create beautiful headers, footers, thumbnails, etc., so that it looks professional and is exciting to consume.

Finally, set a date that you’ll send out your free content to your prospects.

Final notes: Make sure your freebie is easy to consume and share.

AND, make sure your content is presented in a format that can be accessed on both desktop and mobile devices.

Make Short Videos for Social Media to Get Better Engagement

Want more engagement from your videos on social media?

Creatorpreneurs, create a short video that’ll help you attract the right kind of attention, spread brand awareness, and improve your organic reach.

Why You Should Create Short Videos for Social Media

Short videos are popular because they work. According to research done by Hubspot, the recommended length for a video on various social media platforms are:

  • Instagram videos: 26 seconds
  • Twitter videos: 45 seconds
  • Facebook videos: 1 minute
  • YouTube videos: 2 minutes

While there are a number of reasons why short videos are popular, one of the most obvious ones is the fact that they give out helpful information in small “bites”.

They don’t take up much of your time and can deliver on their promise right away.

After all, successful social media content should be instantly gratifying or you’ll risk losing your audience.

Why Social Media Users Will Watch a Short Video:

  1. To consume content without wasting much time
  2. To keep track of the latest happenings around them
  3. To be informed on trending topics of their interest
  4. And to get entertained!

Make More Money: Find Out What Your Audience Wants

Finding out what your audience wants is easy. Just ask them!

How to Find Out What Your Audience Wants and Needs

First, do you have an email provider that makes it easy to automate a follow-up email sequence? We use Drip.com, so you can check them out if you’re not sure you have what you need.*

Set up your email campaign so that the minute someone subscribes to your newsletter, blog, or free offer, your email provider automatically delivers a thank-you note to their inbox.

In this thank-you note, ask your subscriber what type of content they want.

If you’re a fashion eCommerce store, you can ask something like:

‘What celebrity styles inspire you?”

If you’re an online coach, ask your audience what their number one struggle is.

Maybe you’re an internet marketer who sells online products…
ask them what your next product should be!

How to Make More Money With This Simple Tip

Knowing what your shoppers are interested in the most will help you provide more value (and give them exactly what they want!), thus increasing your sales.

AND… always provide a branded header on your thank-you email.

Watch the video to see how Laughingbird Software’s online Graphics Creator will help you get this done.

Create a custom header in The Graphics Creator and save it for future revisions (there’s never an additional charge for modifications)!

So, sit back and think of a question to ask your audience in the next ‘thank you’ letter you send to them.
