A great way to start a new year is by reviewing what you’ve accomplished in the past year and coming up with new ideas that’ll help you push forward into the new year.

A wonderful… and FREE… tool to help you with this is Google Trends.

Google Trends

Just click on the link above, add a search term, and start planning ideas and topics to follow and create with all year.

This tool will show you which terms and ideas are “trending” and which terms are getting searched for more.

So, if you’re thinking about creating e-covers or social media graphics for your customers, you can see on this example that the term “e-covers” is getting searched more and even has a slight upwards trend.

Make sure to select the countries you’d like to search in or choose “Worldwide” to see what’s trending overall.

Facebook is pushing groups hard lately. They’re a great way to gather like-minded people together on almost any topic.

The best part though? They’re free to create! Anyone can create a group about anything. Whether you collect comics or write blogs about e-biking, creating a Facebook group is fun (and pretty powerful)!

Start publishing some solid content, create new content, and have thousands of members before you know it.

It’s obviously simple enough… rrright? Or maybe you’re thinking too hard. Or maybe you can come up with more than one answer.

CREATORPRENEUR TOOL OF THE WEEK

Since we’re talking about engaging visitors on social media, this tool is essential to posting on Facebook, whether it be in a Facebook group or on your Facebook Business Page.

FREE Facebook Debugger Tool

Have you ever noticed that posted images don’t always turn out right (or at all) on Facebook? Especially when you post a blog article or page to your site and expect the featured image to show up on Facebook.

The Facebook debugger tool will correct that.

All you need to do is copy the URL that your page and graphic are coming from and enter it here. Click “Debug” and you’ll find out how your graphic from that page will appear (note: click on “Fetch new information” if your page hasn’t been shared before).

Then, if you don’t see a graphic at all, or it’s incorrect, click on “Scrape Again” until the image appears correctly.

It’s best to do this each time you publish a page or blog post so that you’re not frustrated later when you try to post on Facebook (speaking from experience here).

As you can probably guess, Marc is a Photoshop expert. He worked with Photoshop long before I even met him (trust me, that’s a super long time… I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count the years).

But, let’s face it, most of us don’t understand Photoshop and/or have no desire to spend the time to learn it and use it. Lucky for me, I can just ask (well, beg) Marc to edit a photo or graphic for me (and begging isn’t really any fun either).
